Police seek help identifying person connected to car vandalisms in Roxbury

The Boston police are seeking the public’s help to identify an individual who was seen leaving Nubian station in Roxbury and vandalizing multiple vehicles toward the Grove Hall Branch of the Boston Public Library early Saturday morning, police said.Officials said the individual was seen at the bus stop, formerly Dudley Station, around 2:39 a.m. and broke into vehicles up Warren Street, through the Stop and Shop parking lot and on to Stanwood Street.The individual was last seen fleeing down Normandy Street from the area of the library around 3:30 a.m.Police say the individual appears to be a Black male, wearing his hair in a bun, a gray sweatshirt, jeans with multiple holes. (CNN) — A former Major League Baseball pitcher was arrested Friday in the 2021 shooting that left his father-in-law dead and his mother-in-law hospitalized in northern California, authorities said.Danny Serafini, 49, who played for the Minnesota Twins and five other teams for seven seasons before retiring in 2007, was arrested in Winnemucca, Nevada, according to a news release from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.Samantha Scott, 33, also was arrested, in Las Vegas, the release said.Serafini was a son-in-law of the victims, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office said Friday at a news conference. (CNN) — Two hurricanes will strike land this weekend by two different ocean basins – Tammy in the Atlantic and Norma in the eastern Pacific.Neither are a threat to the US, but Norma has triggered hurricane warnings for Mexico, including the popular resort town of Cabo San Lucas, and Tammy for portions of the Leeward Islands, a chain of several island nations between the Caribbean Sea and the open Atlantic.Tammy was a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of 80 mph on Friday night, centered about 55 miles east of Martinique, the National Hurricane Center said at 11 p.m. ET. NEW YORK (AP) — About 3,000 asylum-seekers have been told their time was up in New York City shelters, but about half have reapplied to stay, according to a newspaper report.The United States’ most populous city has struggled to contend with the arrival of over 120,000 asylum-seekers in the past year. About 60,000 are currently in shelters run by the city, which is legally required to provide emergency housing to homeless people. The obligation is unmatched in any other major U.S. city.Mayor Eric Adams announced in July that New York would start giving adult migrants 60 days’ notice to move out of city shelters.
