Who was that woman?British literature scholars asked that question for years about “the dark lady of the sonnets,” the mysterious inspiration for some of William Shakespeare’s most descriptive and passionate poetry. The current consensus is that it was Emilia Bassano, the daughter of a musician in England’s royal court.But who was Emilia Bassano? Seeking a more complete answer to that question, the historically inclined London-based theater company, Shakespeare’s Globe, commissioned playwright Morgan Lloyd Malcolm to create a play about a woman who was not only the object of the Bard’s fascination but also a published poet, a mistress, a mother and a mentor.Malcolm’s play, “Emilia,” was such a hit at the Globe that it ended up in London’s West End and won a few Olivier Awards (the English equivalent of a Tony). Woman arrested for domestic violence killing in Dublin

(KRON) -- A woman was taken in to custody in connection with a homicide Friday night, Dublin Police Services (DPS) said in a press release. The suspect was believed to be in a dating relationship with the victim, police said. DPS responded to a home on the 5400 block of Campbell Lane for a medical call for service just after 9 p.m. Friday night. A male victim was found with stab wounds and blunt-force trauma. 6 shot, 1 dead in Chico mass shooting Alameda County Fire personnel tried life-saving measures on the victim, but he was pronounced dead. Crystal Espinoza, 23, was arrested at the scene for domestic violence and homicide, DPS said. Police will identify the victim after his family is contacted. An investigation is ongoing.

(KRON) -- Oakland Athletics announcer Glen Kuiper has been suspended by NBC Sports Bay Area after he said a slur while announcing the A's game against the Kansas City Royals Friday night, NBC Sports confirmed. Kuiper will be kept off the air until a review of the incident is completed, per NBC Sports. Kuiper was not announcing Saturday's game in Kansas City.
