KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A man who made national headlines for threatening employees of a Knoxville Little Caesars with an AK-47 rifle because his pizza was not "hot-n-ready" has pleaded guilty in the case.Charles Doty Jr., 64, pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated assault on Aug. 23. According to the incident report, Doty became angry when told it would take 10 minutes to make his "hot-n-ready" pepperoni pizza. Kimberleigh Murrell, who was serving him, said he became "mad, frustrated" and demanded breadsticks. Police said it was then that Doty exited the store and returned with an AK-47. Bastrop film studios to open in late 2024, CEO said

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A massive film studio project in Bastrop is moving ahead, with the project's developer estimating the site's first part to open next year.Alton Butler, CEO and owner of Line 204, said the nearly 600-acre project is scheduled to finish in December 2024 with some grounds opening before then. Details of the project were first shared in 2021, and Butler's plans have only grown from there. The development along the Colorado River will have stages, office space, warehouses, roadways for filming and more. The entitlements step of the project is complete, and the site is in the grading process. Butler said construction will be in phases with the first 28-acre section having production offices and studios."It's really a long project with a lot of big projects inside of it," Butler said. Extradition process underway for Niskayuna man

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - A coalition of Missouri’s six professional sports teams has backed a new effort to legalize sports betting in the Show Me State. The coalition filed four ballot initiative petitions that address "sports wagering" to the Missouri Secretary of State's Office late last week. The coalition consists of the St. Louis Cardinals, Blues, CITY SC and three Kansas City teams. The petitions call for changes within the Missouri State Constitution to legalize sports betting by Dec. 31, 2025. The coalition wants a plan that would allow sports betting at sites run through their sports teams and Missouri's casinos. Kelly C. Broniec, chief judge of the Eastern District of the Missouri Court of Appeals in St. Louis, was named Tuesday to the Missouri Supreme Court.Republican Gov. Mike Parson announced the choice during a news conference in Jefferson City. Broniec will replace the retiring George W. Draper III, who was appointed by Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon in 2011.
